'Blue Velvet' - First creation in 2022, a self-portrait of the artist. The scene shows a woman resting in her garden in the company of her cat, Mia. Joanna shares her good moments in everyday life. She focuses on self-awareness and shares the importance of taking time for relaxation. Her paintings are always full of vibrant, transparent colours and light. The scene is decorated with plants and various patterns. She wants the viewer to enjoy the exact cheerful moment, catch a deep breath and put away all worries. Relax the whole body and mind.

'I feel that my paintings convey a stillness. It’s what I am striving for in my paintings. A moment where the subjects are simply being and free of responsibility. However, this sits in contrast to the vibrant, energetic colours. I want the viewer to be drawn in by the often dynamic compositions, the lure of the colours, and then notice the stillness set within that.'
