'In the shadow' is a portrait of the artist and her husband Jarek. Joanna captures herself resting in the garden next to her partner. They both enjoy the warm sun and the fresh, sweet fragrance of beautiful plants and flowers around. The artist continues to showcase her everyday moments of time where she fully relaxes and charges her body with good energy. Pilarczyk is inspired by the specific atmosphere of the day, the warm light in the morning sun, and the vibrant colors of nature, so important in her life.
While working on the 'Intimate Times' series, she experiments with the fluorescent color palette.
