Together - is a double portrait of Pilarczyk's friends and neighbours, a Polish woman and a Jamaican man.

In recent paintings, the artist explores the relationship between two people from different backgrounds and cultures. She portrays her models in their natural environment such as their garden, where they share their intimate moment of relaxation on a sunny day. In preparation for the painting, Joanna learns about their relationship and how a couple raises their children, adapting to different cultures such as Polish and Jamaican.

Pilarczyk captures their love and trusts for each other still very strong after their 10th wedding anniversary.

The artists also look more closely into leisure, self-awareness, and ease. In this new painting, she conveys a stillness and a moment where the subjects are free of responsibilities, finding peace and balance in a usually busy life.
